Teaching Range

I teach across the information systems, networks, and data curriculum, and I can take on most systems courses. Over the years I have designed and delivered courses spanning computer networks and internet routing, data networks, internet technologies, information retrieval and organization, social network analysis, sentiment analysis, socio-cyber security, management of information systems, and the ethical design of AI systems — at the B.Sc., M.Sc., and Ph.D. levels, and to classes ranging from small seminars to lectures of 80–120 students (including at Northeastern University).

I design courses as active, discussion-driven spaces. My graduate courses use a flipped-classroom model: students prepare through readings and reflections, and class time is devoted to discussion, collaboration, and critical application. I ask students to anticipate unintended consequences, weigh design trade-offs, and exercise ethical judgment — skills that carry directly into research and practice.

Courses I Designed & Teach

Ethical Design of AI Sociotechnical Systems with GenAI (new course I created)
The ethical design of sociotechnical AI systems, focusing on integrating generative-AI tools into human-computer interaction design. Students examine stakeholder-centered and value-sensitive design and learn to leverage generative AI for ethical, user-centered innovation — through theory, case studies, and a culminating group project.
Fake News & Manipulation (seminar)
The psychological, technological, and social mechanisms behind digital manipulation and disinformation — the role of AI, filter bubbles, influence campaigns, and cognitive biases — developed through critical reading, presentations, and discussion.
Data Networks
How the Internet works — networks, protocols, client–server models, and routing — centered on the TCP/IP suite with hands-on UDP and TCP programming. (~80 students.)
Social Network Analysis
The structure of social and complex networks and the mechanisms that govern connected systems — from the growth of the Web to the spread of information, epidemics, and financial crises.
